Dr. Mariam AlEissa is a distinguished genetic consultant, researcher, and entrepreneur with over two decades of leadership in Saudi Arabia’s healthcare system. She is the Founder and CEO of Generation Health, a pioneering company advancing AI-driven genomics, precision medicine, and health innovation across disciplines.
She currently serves as Senior Genetic Consultant at the Ministry of Health, where she previously directed the National Genetics Laboratory, and holds academic roles as Adjunct Associate Professor at Alfaisal University’s College of Medicine and researcher at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre and King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital. Her career spans advanced research training at UCL, the University of Glasgow, MIT’s McGovern Institute, the Broad Institute, and MGH, where she developed expertise in molecular genetics, population health, and digital innovation.
Dr. AlEissa has led several national and international genomics initiatives, including newborn screening programs, polygenic risk score (PRS) development, and COVID-19 genetic studies, positioning Saudi Arabia as a regional leader in genomics and precision health. She is also a trusted advisor on strategy and innovation to both government and private sectors, mentoring startups and shaping health policy aligned with Vision 2030.
