Dr. Abdallah A. Adlan is a national leader in medical ethics and research governance, currently serving as Executive Director of the Ethics and Compliance Department at the Saudi National Institute of Health Research (Saudi NIH) - a flagship transformation program within the Kingdom’s health sector. His work focuses on embedding ethical integrity and regulatory excellence into Saudi Arabia’s expanding research ecosystem, as well as best practices and knowledge transfer in biotech and health innovation.

He is the Founder and Chairman of the National Committee for Health Ethics at the Saudi Health Council, and Co-Founder and Vice Chairman of the National Data Exchange Committee. In addition to his leadership roles, Dr. Adlan serves as a consultant and faculty member across multiple medical and research institutions, contributing to policy development, capacity building, and ethical oversight.

Dr. Adlan’s expertise spans bioethics, health research regulation, and institutional governance. He has led national efforts to modernize research ethics frameworks and establish specialized committees that support responsible innovation. His academic collaborations include the Universities of Birmingham and Bristol (UK), Leuven (Belgium), and Sydney (Australia), as well as partnerships with European and regional organizations focused on best practices and knowledge transfer.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from King Saud University and a master’s in bioethics from King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences. Dr. Adlan earned dual doctorates in health research and bioethics from the Universities of Bradford and Birmingham, and completed an Executive MBA at Prince Mohammad bin Salman College for Business and Entrepreneurship. His multidisciplinary background positions him as a key mentor for founders navigating ethical, regulatory, and institutional complexity in biotech and health innovation.
